Trustee focuses on fall sports transition

Happy Fall, everyone. We are slowly making the transition from fall to winter sports.

There are many great opportunities to show your support to your classmates and their respective teams. Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 6 p.m., the volleyball team will play its final home game of the season against Joliet Junior College at 6 p.m.

The team will be hosting a Dig Pink night that evening. Starting from 9-1 that day, in cooperation with Student Government Association, there will be a bake sale in the school cafeteria.

At the game that evening there will be baskets for raffle along with a 50/50 drawing. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Side-Out Foundation to fight against breast cancer.

Come out to support the team on their last home game and to support a great and worthy cause.

On behalf of the volleyball team, I would like to thank all of you for your support at home games this year. Games are much more fun when we have great fans cheering us on to victory.

The women’s tennis team is also finishing up yet again another successful season, with a record of 7-1.

They also won the conference this season. The team qualified for Nationals which are held in New York and played on the US Open courts.

7 players leave for New York Oct. 21. If you see a tennis player in the halls, wish them luck! Great job ladies for representing our school so well again this year.

As we start to move into winter sports, the women’s basketball team is hosting a fundraiser at Rip’s Chicken in Ladd.
The event is being held Oct. 20, from 4:30-7:30. Tickets for the occasion are only- $9. The money raised that night will be used to help purchase their warm-up gear for the season.

The first home game for the ladies will be Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. when they take on UW-Rock County. The men’s basketball team follows at 8 p.m.. Good luck to both the men and women’s team this year!
