The Lady Eagles’ bid for a trip to the National Junior College Athletic Association National Tournament in Arkansas ended just short.

The Eagles lost the Region IV Championship to Moraine Valley 92-72 on March 11 at Waubonsee.

The Eagles finished with a record of 21-10.

While the Eagles will lose sophomores Ellen Herrmann, Emily Hoscheid, Daniela Pavlovich, Hannah Wolfe, Marija Labus, and Jill Wignes, the team has a solid core of freshmen returning next year, including Julia Pohar and Hanna Bima, who both saw significant court time for the Eagles this year.

Pavlovich of Granville was named first team All-Arrowhead and co-conference MVP for the second year in a row. Pavlovich also surpassed the 1,000 point career scoring mark.

Wolfe of Utica and Pohar of Peru were named second team all-conference while coach Tom Ptak was named co-conference Coach of the Year.

IVCC Athletic Director Cory Tomasson said, “We are extremely proud of these outstanding student athletes and the whole women’s basketball team for an incredible season.”
