The Micro-Food Pantry is available to all IVCC students, no questions asked. The Micro-Food Pantry is located in the Foundations Office (C202) and is available from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. daily, though the office does close from noon until 12:30. IVCC Foundation’s assistant Janice Corrigan advises those students who are interested to “just walk in the door and take what they need from the cabinet.” Corrigan adds, “We encourage anyone with a need to come in to use the pantry. We are confidential about anyone coming in and people should not be embarrassed to do so.” If someone wants to donate to the Micro-Food Pantry they are advised to visit the Foundation Office to obtain more information regarding how to organize donations and what supplies the pantry needs. “We also accept monetary donations and will make purchases of needed items with these donated funds. It is better to meet with us first to see what is needed: this way we keep a good supply of items we know people usually are looking for when they come into our office,” Corrigan adds. The Micro-Food Pantry contains food and snacks that are ready-to-eat or microwavable items. Corrigan states that the most popular foods in the pantry include, “granola bars, mac & cheese cups, breakfast bars, cup-of-soup, ramen noodles, fruit cups, cheese and peanut butter cracker packages, microwaveable packaged meals, applesauce, and instant oatmeal cups.” Stop in the Foundation Office if you have questions, would like to donate, or want to offer any help to the Micro-Food Pantry.
