The Show Must Go On!

The IVCC Theatre Department will present Hooray for Hollywood: The Music of the Movies at 8 p.m. Sunday, April 11.

The pre-show will begin at 7:30 on the IVCC Fine Arts Facebook page, in which viewers can participate in live trivia and interact with one another before the performance begins. The show will then start via YouTube Premiere, and will be available for repeat viewings afterwards. The link to the Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/groups/IVCCFineArts

The show consists of musical numbers from the golden age of Hollywood, saluting films such as The Wizard of Oz, Meet Me in St. Louis, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Singin’ in the Rain, and many more. It features IVCC students and alumni, as well as community members. Hooray for Hollywood was filmed on the IVCC stage in accordance with strict CDC guidelines.

Following Hooray for Hollywood is a trailer for IVCC’s May production: Steppin’ Out! The show will take place outside on the grounds of Lasalle’s Hegeler Carus Mansion. This will be IVCC’s first live performance since the start of the pandemic. Steppin’ Out! will celebrate the music of Broadway. The show will be presented on May 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, and 23. Ticket information will be available at a later date.
