Coach Tim Cottingim’s Eagles soccer team has gotten off to a strong start this season.
The men’s team is 8-2-1 thus far in the campaign.
Sophomores Tyler Marconi from Chatham Glenwood High School and Tyrese Baijnath from South Africa lead the team in scoring with nine goals each.
Marconi also leads the team in assist with five while Baijnath and Jasiel Watson each have four.
Goalkeeper Colin Hart has played in all 11 games and has 49 saves with a saves percentage of 83%.
This year’s team once again has an international flavor with Liam Clarkson from England, Martin Murillo from Mexico, Tyrese Baijnath and Samuel Bhengu from South Africa, and Fransisco Pereira, Ivan Patricio, Fransisco Fernandez, and Rodrigo Rochete from Portugal.
While they are on the road for much of October, the team host a match at Rotary Park in La Salle at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18 vs. Moraine Valley.
