Women’s Basketball Head Coach Josh Nauman saw his high expectations for this year’s team derailed by injuries and COVID-19

“We ended 2-22,” Nauman said. “Don’t feel too good about it. We had high expectations coming into the season, but had way more injuries that I’ve ever had in over 25 years of coaching.

“During the second semester we never had more than six players who were able to play in a game.”

Nauman said the team was affected by COVID and injuries, practicing only twice with 10 players, despite having 14 rostered at the start. For several games the team played with five players.

Nauman is hopeful for next season since four freshmen who can return and one sophomore who has an additional year of eligibility.

“Hopefully for next year we can bring in some talented freshmen who can help out,” he said. “Hopefully, we will find enough players that we have some depth and can have a successful season.”
