Golfers Finish Eighth at IVCC Invitational

TOP FINISHER Spencer Marquez finished eight for the Eagles in a 95-player field at the IVCC Invitational Sept. 20-21.

The IVCC men’s golf team finished eighth out of 15 teams at the IVCC Fall Invitational Sept. 20 at Seneca’s Deer Park Country Club and Sept.
21st at Seneca’s Oak Ridge Golf Course.

Individually, Spencer Marquez, a Bureau Valley High School graduate, secured another Top 10 finish by placing eighth in a strong 95-player field.

Men’s Golf Coach Sean Kennedy said, “ Overall, I am pleased with the consistent effort the Eagles displayed. 308 and 310 are solid team scores
considering the weather conditions.

“If we could have gotten a few more putts to drop over the two days we could have put a serious dent in a deep and talented scoreboard.”

Kennedy added that it was “terrific to see Spencer earn another Top 10. His hard work this summer is being rewarded.”

The team is now in regional play.
