Eagles aiming for improved record from last season

Mason Lucas, IV Leader Sports Co-Editor

The IVCC Eagles Baseball record is 10-13 overall with a 6-6 record in conference. A much better pace than last year’s 17-33 overall record and already eclipsing the 3-17 conference record.

The team’s hitting has been a very big bright spot this year with a team batting average of .362 with nine team home runs and 149 RBI’s.

Leading the way for the Eagles is Sullivan Stickann who is first in batting average, on-base percentage and slugging (.524, .625, .698). His batting average is not only leads the team, but all Region IV schools. He is also second in extra base hits with nine and third in RBI’s with 18. Also leading the way at the plate for the Eagles is Paxton Kennedy. Kennedy is first on the team in extra base hits, home runs, and RBI’s (11, 4, 26).

Those two lead the way but a plethora of other Eagles hitters have been big for the team this season.

As for pitching, the team has a total 8.14 earned run average (ERA), which ranks near the bottom of the region.
124 walks have been given up, which is middle of the pack in Region IV.

With only 13 games left in the season it’ll be key for the Eagles bats to stay hot to improve their record.
