Volleyball team looks to bounce back

After a disappointing campaign last year, a few returning sophomores will look to lead the charge for the Eagles this year.

In order for a team to be successful, leadership is mandatory. Sophomores Grace Honiotes, Emma Lohr-Fandel, Lexi Musser and Hanna Bima will look to lead the larger freshman class to some quality wins this year.

“I am super excited for this season and all the potential this team has,” said Bima. “It’s so great having all area players because everyone is very versatile.”

Youth is definitely one area the Eagles excel in and area girls flocked to IVCC this year to suit up for coach Erin Polte.

“We’re young with a lot of incoming talent,” says IVCC freshman and Hall High School graduate Jenna Lusietto. “At the same time, we have four returning sophomores with both experience and talent.”

The Lady Eagles are driven to improve this year as they shoot for a more successful season.

“Our goal is to be regional champs,” says IVCC freshman Tori Coble. “We want it bad and will keep working hard to get there”.

The Eagles lost their opening contest to Lincoln College Aug. 22 in three games, but plan to regroup for upcoming contests.
