Hello Eagles,
We’re at the end of the semester! At the end of November, Student Government members met with the President’s Council to discuss our goals for enhancing campus life and boosting student engagement.
At the Board of Trustees meeting on November 18, we kicked things off by recognizing and congratulating our Women’s Tennis team for securing their spot at nationals in South Carolina. What an incredible achievement, and best of luck this spring!
The Board also approved 40 new high-performance desktop computers for the Assessment Center. These upgrades will support testing operations, giving students reliable systems for exams. Plus, a $75,000 grant was approved to enhance the Nursing program, funding a new simulation lab, updated equipment, and improved classroom space, which will give nursing students more hands-on learning opportunities.
As the semester winds down, the Student Activities Department is helping students de-stress with fun activities and snacks to get through finals. The Art Club will hold its annual art sale on Dec. 3 and 4 in the front atrium — perfect for last-minute Christmas gifts!
In addition, IVCC will host a Lunch with Legislators event on Dec. 3 featuring State Sen. Sue Rezin and State Rep. Murri Briel. The event will take place at noon in Room C 316. This session gives students the chance to learn more about state government, ask educational questions, and gain insight into how legislation can impact education, careers, and the community. Lunch will be provided.
And don’t miss the International Club’s bake sale on Dec. 10 in the Student Life Space for a sweet treat to get you through studying.
As always, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, I am happy to help. Feel free to email me at [email protected].
