Wellness Week and Board of Trustees updates

Madison Miranda

Hello Eagles! Student Trustee Madison here, again. Welcome back from Thanksgiving break. I hope you all could enjoy some family time and stuff yourselves with food.

Finals are just around the corner. SGA knows things can get a little stressful, so they have put together a Wellness Week to hopefully give students the opportunity to clear their heads before going into the end of the semester chaos.

Wellness Week will be held from Nov. 29 through Dec. 3 and will have different events each day of the week on the main campus along with similar events at the Ottawa Center. Events range from an unplug challenge, a visit from Ruby the therapy dog, and a spike ball tournament.

The Board of Trustees recently held a meeting on Nov. 18. Here, Fran Brolley gave a presentation with updates about the IVCC Foundation. It’s truly amazing to be able to work with such a productive and passionate leadership team. We cannot thank them enough for the life changing work they do. Jane Goetz was also awarded a Spirit Award.

The last exciting update I have is that Trustee Amy Boyles has been blessed with a healthy and adorable baby!

Our next meeting will be held Dec. 9 before we go on winter break! If you have any questions or concerns, you are always welcome to email me at [email protected]. I also hold office hours in the Student Life Space on Mondays from 10-11 a.m.

Good luck on your upcoming finals! Study hard!
