A Fall Reminder From the Trustee

Matthew Klein, Student Trustee

Hello everyone,

I cannot believe that it is already October! I hope you’re doing well in your classes and I want to remind you that it is okay to ask for help. I was recently stuck on an accounting problem for over 30 minutes so I decided to go to the peer tutoring center. They helped right away and saved me so much time.

The IVCC Board of Trustees re- cently heard an update on the IVCC website redesign project from Dawn Lockwood, Educational Technologist, and Quintin Overocker, Director of Admissions, Records, and Transfer ser- vices. The new site looks fantastic and it works very well on mobile devices. In addition, there were a record setting 470 students at the 23rd annual IVCC Foundation Scholarship Recogni- tion Reception. Congratulations to the IVCC Foundation on a job well done.

On another note, student government elections for freshmen are in progress. Petitions are available from September 30-October 7 outside of E-306 and must be returned by 4pm by October 7th. Don’t forget to vote in the Student Government Elections on Thursday, October 10th and Friday, October 11 in the Student Life Center from 8:00am-2:00pm.

Lastly, the Student Government Association is meeting with the President’s council mid-October to present our goals for the remainder of 2019 and 2020. If you have any recommendations or suggestions, make sure to stop by the Student Government Office lo- cated in the student life center!

Best of luck on mid- terms and happy Fall!
