Two essay contests are currently open for all enrolled IVCC students.  

 The IVCC Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Writing Contest encourages students to submit writing in any format that addresses or shares the student’s experience with any aspect of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Deadline is 2 p.m. on Febr. 20. First prize is awarded $100, second prize is $75, and third is $50. 

 The Gandhi/King Peace Scholarship is awarded to the student who best articulates the peaceful messages of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Deadline is 2 p.m. Feb. 20. The local winner will win $100 and then the winner is eligible to compete for the state award of $750 to put towards educational expenses.
