Did you know that the dental health center here at IVCC does free cleanings for IVCC students and staff?
The dental health center is located in Building G, which also contains the gym. Appointments are available throughout the semester.
The dental center is used by two clinics, the dental assisting class on Friday mornings, and the dental hygiene class on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. To be seen at the clinic, an appointment s needed, as walk-ins are not accepted.
To make an appointment, one can either call the clinic at 1-815-224-0227 or email the clinic at [email protected].
An IVCC student will be there to assist at appointment time. “Patients can anticipate a dental experience that rivals the professionalism and depth of care found in any working dental office,” says Dean of Health Professions Heather Seghi.
IVCC had its first dental graduating class in December, “It’s an amazing resource for students, faculty, and the community as a whole!” says Jenna Andersen, a graduate from this program.
One can get either cleanings, X-rays, fluoride treatments, or comprehensive examinations for free or a very low cost depending on what is done. This is all run by not just IVCC students, but dentists from around the area come in and allow their clinic to run as well. Everything is overseen by registered and dental hygienists.
