Black History Month events at IVCC

Illinois Valley Community College celebrated Black History Month with a variety of events.

Students, staff and faculty were encouraged to participate in a live poetry reading on Wednesday, Feb. 16 by reading and/or listening to poems by African American poets.

On Wednesday, Feb. 23, the Soul Food event provided lunch which consisted of a choice of chicken or ribs, mac and cheese, a corn bread muffin, and peach cobbler or banana pudding.

Black History Month events were sponsored by the Black Student Association, DEI Committee, Student Activities, and Jacobs Library.
