Caitlinn Hubbell was hired as a new agriculture instructor for the 2021-22 academic year.

Q. Where are you from originally?
A. Lafayette, Indiana

Q. Where did you attend college and what degree do you hold?
A. Purdue University; Bachelor’s of Science in Food Science & Michigan State University; Master’s in Agricultural, Food and Resource Economics

Q. What classes or positions are you currently assigned?
A. Ag Instructor and Co-Program Coordinator! Classes: Agricultural Sales, Intro/Advanced Agricultural Business Management, Intro to Field Crop Science, Agricultural
Credit and Finance; Intro to Cannabis Production

Q. Are you new to teaching? If not, where did you teach before IVCC?
A. New to teaching full time.

Q. What are your initial impressions, not only of the students, but also the atmosphere at IVCC, and your fellow faculty and staff?
A. The IVCC faculty, staff and students have been overwhelming welcoming! I am excited by the energy at IVCC and the passion to learn by all students.

Q. So far, what is your favorite aspect of IVCC?
A. The environment and the excitement about careers in agriculture in the Illinois Valley area.

Q. What is your favorite thing about the Illinois Valley area?
A. We love the Illinois Valley area. My favorite part is probably Starved Rock.

Q. What should a student know about you?
A. I love to cook and bake! Trying new recipes is one of my favorite things to do over the summer.
