The Ag Club at IVCC elected this year’s new leadership on Monday, Sept. 30th during a weekly meeting in room J117E.

“I’m looking forward to aiding in giving students the op- portunity to grow their agriculture background and career,” Lovgren explained.

The club’s new vice presi- dent, Hailey Hilmes of Princeton, is also a freshman this year at IVCC. Her focus is on informing others, both members of the club as well as other students, about agriculture and the program at IVCC.

“I think it’s important to be informative about what we do be- cause ag is such a growing indus- try,” Hilmes shared.

Rounding out the team of

three is McKenzie Cain, of Princ- eton, who is in her fifth semester at IVCC. She is excited about the growth happening in the ag club and looks forward to the potential for achievement as a result.

“As our numbers are grow- ing, it’s exciting to be a part of a [bigger] group and see what we can achieve this year,” Cain remarked.

All three members of the newly elected officer team will serve as leaders for the club in a variety of activities and events throughout the year, such as the IVCC Ag Open House on Oct. 8th and the ag booth at IVCC College Night on Oct. 22.

The ag club is open to all students at IVCC who have an in- terest in agriculture and the diverse array of opportunities it provides in career skills, personal growth, and industry awareness.
