Relax before finals

Stephanie Bias, Assistant Editor-In-Chief

Phi Theta Kappa will host their first inaugural Stress Free Extravaganza on Tuesday, Dec. 5 in the Student Life Center from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Students can color on coloring book pages while enjoying free snacks and beverages at the event. Free stress balls and information about mental health will be provided.

In addition, students can pledge to put their health first by signing a banner.

Kellsie Edgcomb, Phi Theta Kappa President, hopes the event will encourage relaxation.

“It’s really important, especially around the stress of finals, to slow down and take a moment to yourself,” Edgocomb said. “Mental health issues are not going away, but we can do things to help bring awareness and give outlets to students going through it.

“By starting this event we can bring awareness to mental health and provide a place for students to slow down during the madness of finals week.”
