Summer, fall registration dates approaching

Registration for Summer 2015 and Fall 2015 will begin in early April.

Pre-summer three-week class registration will begin on Thursday, April 9. These are classes that begin around May 18 and last until around June 9. Summer eight-week classes are also available that will begin around June 10 and end around Aug. 4. Fall classes will be available for registration on April 15.

To sign up for these classes students have two options. Students are welcome to visit Counseling and Advising at any time by appointment or walk-in. Counselors are available to help students map out the appropriate path for the individual student’s success.

Another option for students is to log onto WebAdvisor at 8 a.m. the day of registration and sign up through their WebAdvisor account.

Counselor Gary Sonnenberg encourages students to register early whether it be online or at the admissions office. Classes are known to fill up quickly and early registration allows students a better chance at receiving classes they want.

There are a few tips given by Sonnenberg to help students receive a smooth registration experience.

Sonnenberg states, “They should come see us to see what they are lacking, what are they missing for their degree.”

When visiting Counseling and Advising, counselors are able to guide students towards classes they may still need in order to receive their associate’s degree.

Sonnenberg also claims, “It’s really important for the students to have a good handle on where they want to transfer to.” This allows counselors to lead students towards classes that will be accepted by their prospective transfer school.

For information, students can call the admissions office at 815-224-0360. They may contact the Counseling Center for confirmation that the walk-in option will be available. The Counseling and Advising office is located in the Peter Miller Community Technology Center Upper Level CTC 202.
