U of I Extension seeks volunteers

Looking to expand your volunteer experience? Need something to spice up your resume?

The University of Illinois Extension and 4-H are teaming up in search of volunteers to lend a hand with their newly established Outdoor Adventures, Rocketry, and Robotics clubs in the area.

The time required for volunteering depends on the club’s activities. Some activities can range from a day to sometimes longer.
Each volunteer will be equipped with the secrets and training to make the best of their volunteer time. Background checks are mandatory for all volunteers.

To learn more about volunteering, contact Breanne Suarez, youth development educator, Illinois Valley Community College, Room C-223. Students also can drop in during office hours, which are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed from noon-1 p.m. for lunch) Monday-Friday, or they can call (815) 224-0891 or e-mail [email protected] for more information.

4-H seeks to assist youth in acquiring knowledge, forming attitudes and developing life skills that enable them to become caring, competent and contributing members of society. For more information about 4-H visit 4-H.org.

The Extension office leases 1,300 square feet of the former Financial Aid office in Building C at IVCC and moved into their office this year.
