Movember focuses on men’s health
November 7, 2013
IVCC’s Psychology Club and Phi Theta Kappa are participating in Movember, an event to raise funds for prostate/testicular cancer programs and
men’s mental health programs.
During the month of November men are asked to refrain from shaving as part of the event.
IVCC’s Social Psychology class is designing posters to make everyone aware of the Movember movement.
In addition, students distributed information at a table, set up in the reception area. Other activities are being planned, culminating with a recognition event on Friday, Nov. 29.
This is the second year IVCC has participated in the event, which started in 2003 in Melbourne, Australia. In 2012, more than 1 million pe ople participated in the cause.
Women also are asked to participate by helping men and developing an under standing of men’s health concerns. More information
