Car fire extinguished in parking lot
April 26, 2012
IVCC Safety Services and the Oglesby Fire Department were on hand to put out a car fire in Parking Lot 2 April 18. This came after a student reported seeing smoke coming from under the hood of a car.
Two safety service officers responded, Lt. Denny Franklin and CPO Brant, and found the 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix on fire. They worked to contain the fire, keeping it localized under the hood and putting out the tires when they would reignite, until Oglesby firefighters got on scene.
The new registration stickers allowed Safety Services to contact the owner of the car, Taylor Fauth, and alert her of the situation.
