Long Form Improv Showcase Planned
January 31, 2012
For the past few months, select students and faculty at IVCC have been working hard in a master class with Howard Johnson on long form improvisation.
Howard Johnson is an author, actor, director and educator who has worked with Second City in Chicago.
“Howard Johnson is great to work with. He has challenged us to delve deep within ourselves to find the humor in truth without trying to just be funny,” said Jeremy Close, a student who has been working with Johnson. “He challenges us enough to make ourselves better, but not so much we don’t want to come back for more each week. It is an honor and pleasure to be working with Howard.”
To finish the master class, the participants will perform at an hour long lecture and demonstration on Tuesday, February 28 at 2 PM in Room B216. There will also be an evening presentation of this showcase, Tuesday, March 13 at 7:00 pm at the Carus Mansion in La Salle, courtesy of Hegeler Carus Foundation.
