‘This is the End’ filled with laughs
November 7, 2013
Start with the apocalypse, add celebrities playing themselves, then add in some of those celebrities dying.
Does that sound like a tragedy to you?
Well, turns out it’s a comedy.
“This is the End” is set at a big house warming party at James Franco’s house that has well known celebrities like Seth Rogen, Rihanna, Emma Watson, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson, and Danny McBride.
In the beginning actor Jay Baruchel is visiting his friend Seth Rogen in Hollywood which is at first filled with video games, smoking weed, and listening to The Backstreet Boys.
This is a slow start to what happens at the party when the righteous are sucked up into Heaven and the unjust stay on Earth to be put through the coming disasters.
The result of this is explosions everywhere, a giant sinkhole that leads straight to Hell, wildfires, and the Devil himself walking the Earth all signaling this is the end.
The remaining actors all stay barricaded in James Franco’s house where the only accurate description is a season of The Real World on crack.
There are plenty of celebrity cameos in this movie including a huge one at the very end that leads to an awesome wrap up to what could’ve been an ending that leaves you wanting more.
This movie is filled with laughs that caused me to laugh to the point of tears.
I found the amount of cameos in it perfect and not at all overplayed.
If any of you IV Leader readers loved movies like “Pineapple Express,” “Superbad,” or “21 Jump Street” then this movie is definitely a must for you.
