The Larkin and Moran Brothers band of Chicago will return to the Illinois Valley for the first time in three years when they play for the Illinois Valley Community College Foundation’s ninth annual Irish Night celebration Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Knights of Columbus, 209 Gooing St., La Salle.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; the band will play from 7 to 11. Admission is $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Call the IVCC Foundation office at (815) 224-0253 for information.

In 2008, the Celtic rock band featuring Dan, Dan Jr., Mike and Joe Larkin and Terry and Kevin Moran, drew a record Irish Night crowd of 300.
Widely considered one of the most sought after Irish/Celtic bands in the Midwest, “The Larkin and Moran Brothers have a sense of fun and energy that is rare these days (in Irish music),” said Shay Clarke of the Irish American News. They’ve performed across the U.S. including stops in Las Vegas, Milwaukee Irish Fest, Chicago Symphony Orchestra Hall and Navy Pier.
