Winners of the IVCC Student Government Association elections have been announced, with Taylor Gunia of Peru winning the race for student trustee.

Gunia, an L-P graduate, received 103 votes while her challenger Max Halm of La Salle received 56 votes.

There were a total of 176 votes cast in the election.

“We are very pleased with the turnout of the election,” said SGA advisor Cory Tomasson. “It is great to have a contested race on the ballot to increase interest.  We are excited to have the new members take their positions so that we continue the amazing work that the current members have started.”

In addition to the trustee’s race, a number of other SGA positions were filled in the April 11-12 election.

Serving as president for the 2013-2014 year will be April Kutz of Oglesby. Kutz received 146 votes in the election.

Vice president will be Johnna Schultz of Spring Valley, who received 141 votes.

Alec Noy won treasurer with 30 write-in votes over Adie Lauf, who received 22 votes. For secretary, Jenna Sobin received 15 votes, defeating Noy, who had 12.

Sophomore representative will be Nicole Musselman with 152 votes, while Lauf and Halm won sophomore programming board positions through write-in votes.
