Jason Goode of Ottawa will be the head coach for the Illinois Valley Community College men’s baseball team next season.
Goode, 40, an Assistant State’s Attorney in the La Salle County State’s Attorney’s office, was named interim head coach Tuesday, said Associate Vice President for Student Services Tracy Morris.
Goode coached baseball two years at Marquette Academy, was the AABC Streaks head coach one year and served as head coach of the 19-and-under Yellowjackets and 16-and-under Sundevils of the Ottawa summer league.
Goode earned his law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Mich., and his bachelor’s in family and consumer science from Eastern Illinois University.
“Jason brings a great a great deal of enthusiasm and experience to our team,” said Morris. “I am confident he will build a strong program here.”
Goode replaces three-year coach Eric Pinter who resigned in May as a result of a planned move from the area.
