Nat Glynn, IVCC student, won first place for her illustration named “Morning afternoon” in recent local North Central Illinois ARTworks (NCI ARTworks) art exhibit. NCI ARTworks’ Emerging Artists Exhibition held place on July 11 at the Westclox Museum in Peru.
Glynn said, “It was my first time being a part of an art show. I enjoyed it and was excited to take part in something like this.”
Glynn submitted three different pieces into the exhibit. When asked what form of media she used to create her submitted artwork, she explained “primarily a mechanical pencil for the entire piece.”
Glynn stated that her inspiration for “Morning Afternoon” came from her interest and fascination with older works; but in the case of this piece, it drew from the 1950s and earlier. She also shared that the style could be explained as a form of surrealism.
