The Illinois Valley Community College cross country program hosted the Arrowhead Conference Championship on Oct. 11 at Catlin Park near Ottawa.
The Eagles women narrowly missed claiming the championship trophy this year, falling just one point behind Carl Sandburg College in the 5KM race.
“After beating Sandburg the last time we faced off this was disappointing, but our women ran well and we have high hopes to perform our best at the Region IV meet in a couple weeks,” Matt Baker, IVCC cross country coach, said.
IVCC freshman Addyson Miller finished fifth, earning All-Conference recognition.
The women’s results were:
Addyson Miller (5th, 23:01)
Meghann Ostler (9th, 25:50)
Tatiana Serna (11th, 26:41)
Kailey Goetsch (12rd, 27:07)
Sophia Woods (13th, 27:08)
Claire Durdan (17th, 31:01)
In the men’s 8 KM race, the Eagles finished four runners.
