Super Bowl 59 kicks off in New Orleans on Feb.9. On Jan.26, conference championship games decided who would be in biggest game of the year.
The Chiefs will take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Feb.9. We started off in Philadelphia as the Commanders would take on the Eagles. Rookie phenom, Jayden Daniels would start with the ball in the division rival matchup. Washington would take their time in the first drive of the game ending in a Zane Gonzalez field goal.
Philly came out the gates running, with Saquon Barkley running with nothing but green grass in front of him for 60 yards to the end zone for one of his three touchdowns for the game. The Eagles held the lead steadily for the game, while leading in all categories.
Saquon and Company beat Daniels and the Commanders in a heavy lopsided 55-23 win for the NFC.
From Philly over to Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, the 15-2 Chiefs take on the 13-4 Bills in a playoff rerun from last year.
Chiefs came into this game as heavy favorites, while 67 percent of the bets around the world had Buffalo in favor. The Bills defense told Kareem Hunt, “I knew you were trouble” when he walked right into the end zone for his only score of the day.
James Cook would later “shake it off” as he pushed through Kansas City defense for 6. Mahomes and Xavier Worthy would ask the Bills to “speak now” as Worthy would score on a 11-yard catch and Mahomes would sneak into the end zone for his 1 of 2 rushing touchdowns. Josh Allen would find Mack Hollins on a 34-yard dime in the end zone at the end of half putting them down 16-21.
James Cook would be the only score during the third quarter with a one-yard rushing touchdown putting the Bills in the lead for the first time during the game. Mahomes would come out and score on a 10-yard rushing touchdown, while the two-point Conversion would succeed as the Chiefs would tower the Bills, 29-22, early in the fourth quarter.
Buffalo would march down the field in nine plays for 70-yards ending in a four-yard touchdown catch for Curtis Samuel, tying the game at 29-29, with the Chiefs moving down the field. Harrison Butker would cap off the drive with a 35-yard field goal. Buffalo came out the gates hot and mistakes caught up to them. On fourth down, Allen would try to heave a prayer towards Dalton Kincaid, which would result in a dropped pass, ending the season for the Bills.
Chiefs will be eyeing their third straight championship, while the Eagles hope for revenge from Super Bowl 57 when they lost to Kansas City.
