The curtain is slowly falling on the 2023 NFL regular season and with that comes the shaping of the NFL draft order. While it is still only week 13 and the draft order can change drastically over the next five weeks, looking at the wants and needs of the projected first 10 picks in the NFL draft as of week 13.
Chicago Bears: The Bears make up two of the first 10 selections thanks to the trade involving the number one selection last year and the Carolina Panthers. This team is intriguing as to what they do with these selections. For the sake of anything being up for grabs, QB, WR, C, and Edge.
New England Patriots: For the Pats it is quite simple. It is Caleb Williams/Drake Maye or bust. Mac Jones has been sucked of all confidence and swag that he once had and the damage is undoable. New England will be taking a quarterback come April.
Arizona Cardinals: Go get Marvin Harrison. This pick is a no brainer.
Washington Commanders: OT, OG, C. Sam Howell has shown well enough that he can be the guy despite being used as a pinata for defenses because of how bad this Offensive Line has been. Protect QB1.
New York Giants: The defense is still a nasty unit with a lot of talent across the board. You are a Mike Evans or Tee Higgens signing away from a fine receiving core, like the Patriots, QB is a no brainer with this pick, just a matter of who it will be.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Getting younger at edge would be ideal but also prepping for a Mike Evans departure could result in an LSU receiver off the board. The Bucs are intriguing because they can go any direction they please.
New York Jets: Get Aaron Rodgers protection. This is a top 5 defense in the NFL and you have a top 10 receiver in football and a top probable top 10 running back. Protect your hall of fame QB for a one shot for all the marbles season.
Los Angeles Chargers: All of the above minus QB. This team and franchise is so bad that it has casual NFL fans thinking Justin Herbert is a bad quarterback. This franchise continuously spends money and draft capital on negative pieces that bring the team down. They are going to make a lot of cuts in the offseason to get back to a positive cap. Giving Herbert time to make a throw needs to be a priority. Giving him non XFL receivers should also be mandated.
Tennessee Titans: WR, DB, Edge, OL. This roster is quite bad. Derrick Henry is all but gone in the offseason and you gotta see what you have in 2023 second round pick Will Levis. Holes are everywhere on the team and all they can do is try and fill those holes by taking the best player available.
