The story of Johnny Manziel is one of the ultimate highs and the complete lows of rock bottom.
The Netflix documentary “Untold: Johnny Footbal”l does a tremendous job of showing the slow climb to the top of the sports and media world and then the fast decline of the same subjects.
Manziel being a Texas boy growing up staying in state at Texas A&M made him even more of an icon.
Manziel not only made a name for himself, but he managed to put Texas A&M back on the map as a legitimate football program with championship hype and aspirations.
The story of Manziel is the perfect example of no matter how much success you may have in a sport, no matter how much money you have in your pocket, no matter the fame you have, you can still be broken and lost inside.
Manziel was a Heisman winner, a first-round pick in the NFL draft and still could not find happiness. From what was his biggest dream turned to be his worst nightmare as he was doing all he could do to be cut by the Browns before the season even began.
This Netflix documentary is a great reminder that mental health should always be first priority and be practiced and trained just like physical health is.
If you are a fan of college football or NFL football this is a highly recommended watch.
