With only a few games left until post season play, the Lady Eagles are 9-12 overall and 2-5 in conference play as of press time.
In recent play, the Lady Eagles traveled to Freeport on Jan. 30 for a conference match-up against Highland and came out on top with a score of 68-55. Sophomore Jessica Jessen (Marquette) led the Lady Eagles with 21 points and was 3-5 behind the arc.
Sophomore Kara Kistenfeger finished with a double-double as she had 13 points and 12 rebounds. First-year player Kayla MacDavitt (St.Bede) also had a double-double with 19 points and 13 boards. Sohomore C.J. Rhodes (Princeton) contributed with 10 points in the win.
On Feb. 3, the Lady Eagles played host to Sauk Valley but fell to the Skyhawks with a final score of 63-45.
Despite the loss, Jessen led the Lady Eagles with 14 points. Kistenfeger and MacDavitt each had 8 points. MacDavitt also pulled down 8 rebounds. Freshman Mia Porter (LaSalle-Peru) finished with 6 points off the bench in the loss.
On Feb. 6, the Lady Eagles played another home game but could not come out on top against Black Hawk East with a score of 76-68.
Jessen finished with 25 points and a perfect 6-6 from the charity stripe. Kistenfeger also had 12 points and dished out 5 assists. MacDavitt grabbed 8 boards in the loss.
On Feb. 8, the team hit the road to Chicago to for a match-up against Olive-Harvey College and came home with the win with a final score of 72-59. MacDavitt finished with a double-double with 32 points and 11 rebounds. Kistenfeger finished with 14 points and freshman Kaylee Kingen (Midland) had 9 points. Sophomore Rhodes also grabbed 9 rebounds in the win.
The Lady Eagles final home game is on Feb. 22 against Highland.
