The IVCC Golf team has participated in recent tournaments and has put up good numbers in them.
In the first tournament of the season, the team traveled to Byron, for the Prairieview Invitational on Aug. 23.
IVCC posted a score of 332 which placed them ninth out of 13 teams. Leading the way for the Eagles with a score of 78 were Baley Lehr (Ottawa) and Hunter Schultz (Princeton). Right behind them was Tanner Galyen (Streator) with a score of 81. Dalton Tyler (Mendota) and Kyle Chase (Princeton) rounded it out with scores of 95 and 98.
On Sep. 6, the team posted their best scoring of the season with a score of 311 at Byron Hills Golf Course which placed them seventh out of 15 teams. Lehr had a great day on the course and posted a score of 75. Aaron Jiles (Pontiac) was right behind Lehr with a score of 76. Schultz, Galyen, Chase, and Cassidy Pflibsen (Streator) rounded out the day with scores of 79; 81; 82; and 101.
The team went back on the road and traveled to Galesburg to participate in the Carl Sandburg Classic. IVCC finished the day with a total score of 342 that placed them ninth out of 10 teams.
Galyen lead the way for the Eagles with a final score of 80. Austin Walker posted a score 82. Tyler had a score of 83 while Chase and Alex Shanley (Ottawa) tied with a score of 97.
In the most recent tournament as of press time, the Eagles traveled to Dixon for the Dixon Classic at Timber Creek Golf Club. Lehr finished with a score of 77 to lead the team.
Schultz, Tyler and Jiles posted scores of 83; 87; and 89. Rounding out the day for the Eagles were Zack Hanks (Pontiac) with a score of 96 and Pflibsen with a 99.
