Gracie Abrams is a singer-songwriter from Los Angeles, California, best known for her relatable lyrics and close connection with her fans. However, she has not always been as popular as she is today.
Abrams’ music career began in 2019 when she signed with Interscope Records and released her first single. She followed that with two extended plays, Minor in 2020, and This Is What It Feels Like in 2021.
While she had started getting more recognition during these years, she then released her debut album Good Riddance in 2023 which brought her her very first Grammy Award nomination for Best New Artist. Then in 2024, Abrams released her sophomore album, The Secret of Us, which features Taylor Swift on one of her songs.
During her years of growing as a new artist, after releasing her two extended plays and only beginning her journey to fame, she performed at Lollapalooza in 2022. She had a setlist that lasted 45 minutes consisting of songs from both Minor and This Is What It Feels Like, as well as a cover of her favorite song, Dancing On My Own by Robyn.
She performed at a smaller side stage to a growing, but modest-sized crowd. Her stage presence was heartfelt and intimate, and felt like she was having the best time as though she was performing to friends.
Fast forward to 2025 Lollapalooza, and the difference is staggering. This time, Abrams performed on the T-Mobile stage, which is one of the two main stages at the festival.
She drew one of the largest crowds of the weekend and possibly the largest crowd of her career so far. The sea of people made her at a loss for words as she walked out on stage at the beginning of her 90-minute set.
She played songs from all throughout her career and even performed Dancing On My Own again, only this time she was joined by Robyn herself to sing it with her. For the fans that have been fans since the beginning of Gracie’s career, this growth was emotional to witness.
From a side-stage act in 2022 to a main-stage star gathering one of the largest crowds in 2025, both at one of the biggest music festivals in the U.S., Abrams has proved and continues to prove her evolution as an artist. At Lollapalooza, she did not just perform, she reminded everyone watching that her story is still being written and right now, is only getting bigger.
