Morgan joins math faculty

Emily Morgan was hired as a mathematics instructor for the 2021-22 academic year.
Q. Where are you from originally?
A. I grew up in Plano, IL and went to high school in Paw Paw, IL.
Q. Where did you attend college and what degree do you hold?
A. I have my Associates of Science from Kishwaukee College, Bachelor of Science from Northern Illinois University with a 6-12 Illinois Teaching Certificate, and Master of Science from Aurora University.
Q. What classes or positions are you currently assigned?
A. I am teaching Intermediate Algebra – Foundations of Stem Math, College Algebra, and Structure of Number Systems II this semester.
Q. Are you new to teaching? If not, where did you teach before IVCC?
A. I have been teaching at a community college for over 10 years. I have taught at Kishwaukee College, Rock Valley College, and Waubonsee College.
Q. What are your initial impressions, not only of the students, but also the atmosphere at IVCC, and your fellow faculty and staff? So far, what is your favorite aspect of IVCC?
A. IVCC community has been very welcoming and helpful to have my first semester start off great. I enjoy the relaxed atmosphere at IVCC.
Q. What is your favorite thing about the Illinois Valley area?
A. The small-town atmosphere with numerous options for food, shopping, and recreation.
Q. What should a student know about you?
A. Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with family and traveling.
