Remembering Fallen IVCC Alumn

AURORA—IVCC graduate, and Northern Illinois University student Trevor Wehner, 21, was killed by a gunman on his first day as a human resources intern at Henry Pratt Co. on Feb. 15, 2019, .
Authorities reported that 45-year-old gunman Gary Martin pulled out a gun after receiving news of being fired from the company after 15 years of employment.
Wehner, an IVCC graduate, pitched one season for the IVCC baseball team during the 2016-2017 school year.
On Feb. 21, 2019, the college held a moment of silence in remembrance Trevor Wehner at 1:24 p.m.—the same time when first reports were made of an active shooter at Henry Pratt Co.
IVCC President Jerry Corcoran expressed his deepest condolences saying, “We are heartbroken to learn of the senseless death of such a bright, friendly and promising young man.”
Memorial services were held for Wehner at 7 p.m. the following Wednesday after the shooting, and attendants were invited to celebrate his life in his hometown of Sheridan, Ill., at the Sheridan Fire Department.
