I am new to teaching in the formal academic setting. I was a preceptor for many years in the Emergency Department and on a Medical Telemetry Unit in Rockford, IL.
What are your impressions, not only of the students, but also the atmosphere at IVCC, and your fellow faculty and staff?
My impression of the IVCC students, atmosphere, faculty, and staff is an extremely welcoming community. Everyone I have come in contact with has been very accommodating in helping me to become acclimated to the college. Everyone appears professional and studious, which is motivating and refreshing at the same time.
So far, what is your favorite aspect of IVCC?
My favorite aspect of IVCC is all of the resources available to not only students, but also faculty. There is a resource for every potential issue I may come across. This is reassuring that the IVCC community wants me to succeed as much as I want to personally succeed and as much as I want my students to succeed.
What is your favorite thing about the area?
My favorite thing about the Illinois Valley area is all of the family owned restaurants. We have the best pizza, chicken, and ice cream places around!

A student should know that I am dedicated and motivated to help them succeed. Nursing is a passion of mine and I want to help create great nurses and caregivers.
