The deadline to apply for an IVCC Foundation Scholarship is Thursday Feb. 28.
The Foundation Office offers approximately 100 scholarships every year with a minimum award of $500 each, according to Fran Brolley, director of community relations and development.
To be eligible, students need to fill out a sheet with their basic information, write a 2-3 page essay, and apply for FAFSA. “The essay is absolutely the most essential part of the application,” said Brolley. “Be personal in the essay, tell us your story. Give us examples of how this money would help you.”
The applications are to be submitted to the Foundation Office once completed. Along with submitting the application on time, students must fill out a FAFSA by Friday, April 19.
About 200 students apply for scholarships at IVCC each year. The scholarships are awarded to students in a wide variety of disciplines ranging from Accounting to Veterinary. Students will be notified if the scholarship has been awarded to them around mid June.
