River Currents submissions

IVCC’s literary magizine, River Currents, just concluded its first writers’ night on Oct. 9.

The River Current team will be hosting two more nights for writers to come practice their skills and mingle with others looking to do the same.

The next writers’ night is Thursday, Nov. 6 at 5 p.m. in Room B216, the Fireplace Lounge; it will have a NanMo theme for the attending writers.

The final writer’s night will take place Thursday, Dec. 11, same place and time, and will have a Christmas theme to go along with the likely frigid weather.

Anyone who is interested in writing, no matter if they are a beginner or expert, is invited to attend.

River Currents is looking for submissions now and accepts many types of art like short stories, novel excerpts, poems, plays/scenes, photographs, paintings, drawings, and digital art.

Fictitious or not, River Currents editorial staff looks for creativity, originality, and relativity in submitter’s works.
Submission is easy, but the deadline for the 2014-2015 edition of River Currents is Nov. 25. The publication will be available in the spring.

All submissions can be emailed to [email protected]. A confirmation email will then be sent upon recieving the work.

All writing submissions must be in rich text format. Any visual art can be submitted in JPG or PNG format.

Each submission must include the submitter’s name, title of the work, word count, and which category the piece will be entered in.

The max on page length is 12, but 10 is preferred.

Students also can follow River Currents on Facebook and Twitter.
