The fight against cancer will continue with a fund-raising talent showcase at the end of Spring semester at Illinois Valley Community College.

The showcase will benefit several local cancer awareness associations, and all proceeds will go towards the cure for cancer.

The IVCC Cultural Center will be home to this talent showcase with the students and local community residents being the main attractions for the show.

The idea originated from Christian Bender, a freshman representative for IVCC’s Student Government Association, who was asked to present a goal to the board that would pertain to involvement with IVCC and the community.

His original battle of the bands idea expanded with the help of sophomores Phill, Denner, Alex Danko, and Tomasz Augustyniak into a talent showcase.

The proceeds from this showcase will go towards the fight against cancer helping three local cancer benefits: Cops for Cancer, American Cancer Society, and Boobapalooza.

The showcase is open to anyone who wants to be involved.

There will be signups available in the next few weeks and a Facebook page for the event.
