Show, ticket information
The show will be performed at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, April 10-12 and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 13 in the Cultural Centre.
This is the Theatre Department’s first show in the Cultural Centre in two years since it had been closed for renovation during the construction of the Peter Miller Community Technology Center.
Tickets are $15 for general admission seats, $10 for seniors and students, and free for IVCC students with student ID.
According to the Theatre Department’s Web site, “Gypsy is the ultimate story about an aggressive stage mother. Join Rose, June and Louise in their trip across the United States during the 1920’s, when vaudeville was dying and burlesque was born.”
The musical “Gypsy” is based on the book by Arthur Laurents.
Jule Styne’s music and Stephen Sondheim’s lyrics include “Let Me Entertain You,” “Some People,” “You’ll Never Get Away from Me,” “If Momma Was Married,” “All I Need I the Girl,” “Everything’s Coming Up Roses,” “You Gotta Get A Gimmick” and “Together Wherever We Go.”
The show will be directed by Professor David Allen Kuester.
