Norman Engstrom, IVCC professor of theater, music and speech, will present his annual concert on at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Peru.
This year’s program is entitled “I Like To Deal With the Ladies,” and features music about relationships from searching for the right partner to dating to marriage. Music ranges from Medieval tunes to classical and musical comedy songs to grand opera arias, a little something for everyone.
IVCC piano instructor Ashley Mekeel will accompany Engstrom and, as with past concerts, some IVCC students will also be featured in duets and trios.
Engstrom came to IVCC after 25 years of performing professionally in the Chicago area in everything from comedies to musicals to operas to concerts. His 47 years in the theatre have included mime instruction in England, touring Asia for the USO, and working with “stars” such as David McCallum and Placido Domingo. Admission is free.
