Men’s tennis plays in Jersey

The men’s tennis team found a winning stroke in its spring break trip to Rowan Glucoster College, in Princeton, N.J.

The team had dropped two contests before the trip to Kaskakia College and Olivet Nazarene, but were able to pick up two wins and one loss while in New Jersey.

The team won 8-1 against Ocean, and won 7-2 to Mercer, but lost 8-1 to Rowan.

In the game against Mercer County, Aaron Pellican, a La Salle-Peru graduate, won at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles. Pellican won his singles matches 6-3 and 6-1. He teamed up with Mendota graduate Joey Meyer to win 8-3 at No. 1 doubles.

The team’s  next contest will be  a home match on Sunday, April 9 against Lake County at the L-P Athletic Complex.
