Basketball players earn recognition

Illinois Valley Community College men’s basketball sophomore Rickey Calvin has been named to the All-Region IV, District 3 second team, all-region tournament team and second team All-Arrowhead Conference, head coach Chris Herman announced.

Freshman Keymonta Johnson was also named to the All-Arrowhead second team.

IVCC finished 18-14 behind Calvin’s 15 points and 7 rebounds per game. Calvin tied with freshman Isaiah Tubbs for a team-best 52 percent field goal shooting.

Johnson averaged 12.6 points and 9 rebounds in conference. For the seasons, he led IVCC in assists at 4.4 per game and steals at 1.5 per contest.
