IVCC men’s tennis player Zach Giovanine warms up at the LP sports complex before a match.

The IVCC men’s tennis team rides a two-game winning streak into the second half of their season as their record now sits at 3-3.

The season started off with back-to-back losses, but the team has turned the corner winning its last two matches against Rock Valley and Oakton.

When asked what has sparked the team’s recent success, player David Dubrose replied, “It’s the desire to get to nationals and do well; it motivates us to improve throughout the season.”

The team has four scheduled matchups remaining and one make up match which was delayed by weather.
The Eagles played the majority of the first half of the season at the LP Sports Complex which is used for the team’s home matches.

The remaining games on the schedule will all be on the road which brings an additional challenge to the team.
Head coach Julie Milota remarked that the team will only continue to improve and grow.

“We are growing together every match and growing as players,” player Zack Giovanine stated.

The Eagles next match is April 10 vs Aurora University in Aurora.
