Art Mueller has created the A. Charles and Jean E. Mueller Scholarship at Illinois Valley Community College to honor his parents. The $1,000 scholarship to assist students in healthcare fields was awarded for the first time this fall to Logan Killen of Ottawa.

Mueller, president of Mueller Funeral Homes, said, “Education was very important to my mother and father, as was giving back to the communities we serve. We are honored to be the leading funeral service in the Illinois Valley and La Salle County every year and are honored to form this partnership with IVCC.”

Mueller Funeral Homes were founded in 1950 in Peru by Charles, who died in 2013, and Jean and later expanded.

“We are delighted to welcome the great Mueller family into our Foundation family,” said IVCC President Jerry Corcoran. “Our students will deeply appreciate this scholarship and the Mueller family’s generosity in providing it.”
